For many years the Loyalists
Paramilitaries have been at one another's throats and It's something they
would admit themselves.
This in itself has caused much harm
to the Loyalism as the Paramilitaries involved have received nothing but bad
press in the media and has give the Republicans plenty of ammunition to fire
at Loyalists. Again it's something that many Paramilitary Members and
their Political Wings would not deny either.
However since the groundbreaking
Joint Declaration between the P.U.P. and U.P.R.G. and their Paramilitary Wings
over Racist Attacks in Ballymena this is a welcome sign that Loyalists can
work together and return to their grass roots.
Also not forgetting that
prominent members of the U.D.A and U.V.F. both mourned the loss of John Gregg
at his funeral which again shows that differences can be put aside when they
have to.
This is something that I would
welcome for the ordinary people of Ulster who have been caught up in all the
infighting, would also remove plenty of Ammunition from the Republican
Movement (even though in reality they have no room to shout) and also pave the
way for better public relations with the press and general public on the
mainland.
In taking slow steps in right
direction the U.D.A. and U.V.F. would reassure their own communities that the
only fight they have is for the fight of Ulster and the defence of their
communities that they were set up to defend.
This is the way forward for all the
people in Ulster who wish to remain British as the tide must turn. The
Republican Propaghanda Machine must be stopped and The Loyalist Propaganda
Machine kick started in The World Community.
Once the Paramilitaries show a
United Stance then their political wings follow suit then there is nothing to
stop them achieving what they all set out to achieve in the first place -
Remaining part of Great Britain.
So come on lets
see more steps being put forward in the right direction.
NOTE: Before anyone comes to the
assumption that I am for Paramilitaries my stance on it is simply I do not
condone or condemn them. How I see it is if some one attacked my home with
weapons I would like to face them on equal footing. Defending one's home with
a Mop isn't quite realistic against a bullet.
